Bangsamoro chief lauds MOTC for hand washing project

PARANG, Maguindanao: The head of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) lauded the accomplishments of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC) after the turnover of its two hand washing facilities to the Integrated Public Terminals here.

Chief Minister Ahod “Al Hajj Murad” Ebrahim congratulated MOTC Minister Dickson Hermoso who prioritized the hand washing project facilities as a health protocol in response and part of proactive measures to fight the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19.)

“This hand washing station inside the BARMM Center is a good idea as we enter the new normal after the Covid-19 pandemic, this project is inexpensive and of great importance for all of us as we enter the new normal. We look forward that transport and communication groups will emulate the same,” Ebrahim said.

MOTC Deputy Minister Abunawas Maslamama who is the Program Coordinator on Land Transportation administered the distribution of handwashing facilities to all public terminals in the Bangsamoro region.

Meanwhile, Lando Lopez who represented Parang Mayor Ibrahim Ibay said the local government unit of Parang is very much thankful to Minister Hermoso for putting up the Hand Washing project in their municipality.

“I’m thanking the MOTC office for putting up hand washing facilities, it helps a lot especially to our commuters traveling to Matanog, Barira, and Buldon in Maguindanao; Balabagan, Malabang in Lanao del Sur and Pagadian in Zamboanga del Sur,” Lopez said.

Hermoso vowed to install more hand washing stations in all strategic places. “There are 25 more manufactured Hand Washing Stations that will be installed strategically in all airports, bus and public utility vehicle (PUV) terminals within BARMM provinces and cities,” he added.

Lopez requested for two more additional handwashing facilities to be installed in another two public terminals in Parang, Maguindanao.

Hermoso encouraged the importance of hand washing etiquette, social distancing and wearing face mask especially in this time of coronavirus pandemic and it would benefit the Bangsamoro people.
