Military units spearhead coastal cleanup in Zambo City

COASTAL CLEANUP: The Western Mindanao Command and the Naval Forces for Western Mindanao in coordination with the Zamboanga City Environment and Natural Resources and Zamboanga City Tourism Office conducted a coastal clean up drive at the Great Santa Cruz Island in Zamboanga City. The Western Mindanao Command (WestMinCom) and the Naval Forces Western Mindanao initiated a coastal cleanup activity at Great Sta. Cruz Island here in this city last Friday.

This was in coordination with the Office of the City Environment and Natural Resources and Zamboanga City Tourism Office. 

The activity was also participated by the 4th Civil Relations Group of the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Ecowarriors of the Ateneo de Zamboanga University.

“We at the armed forces do not only work for peace but for the conservation of natural resources as well,” said Lt. Gen. Corleto Vinluan, Jr., Commander, WestMinCom.

“Let us continue to converge and work in unison towards peace and ecological sustainability,” the commander added.

Said activity aimed at spreading awareness on proper waste disposal, health, sanitation, and discipline. (Julmunir I. Jannaral)
