MALABANG, Lanao del Sur
The schools division of Lanao del Sur 2 (LDS 2) of the Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education (MBHTE) tackled a three-day orientation on the implementing guidelines of School- Based Feeding Program (SBFP) on its milk component aimed to provide proper health and nutrition of its children and students.
Dr. Rubina Mimbantas-Macabunar, LDS 2 schools division superintendent, said the activity held from November 10-12, 2020 at the division’s Rambayong Hall here, is in pursuance to the Department of Education (DepEd) Order No. 036 s. 2019 which mandates the Education’s Bureau of Learning Support Services-School Health Division (BLSS-SHD) to lead the implementation of SBFP-Milk Component.
“It is aimed to contribute to the improvement of nutritional status, boost classroom attendance and school performance of target beneficiaries to more than 85 percent per annum,” Macabunar said.
“Ito yong ibinibigay ng gobyerno na feeding before pero ngayon naging milk component,” she added.
Participants to the three-day orientation program are school heads of targeted school recipients and district nurses
In addition to the said orientation, the HNS Team also re-echoed on Infection prevention and control (IPC), wash in schools (Wins) and Mental Health/Psychological First Aid during COVID-19. (RSO)
