With Maria Fhebie Ortil
Alhamdulillah, we have finally reached the 23rd Digital Online Edition of the Philippine Muslim Today with the inclusive week of November 20-26, 2020.
Shukran we are still going strong as we share to you some of the Tausug delicacies in Sulu as contained in the The Best of Halal Home-Cooked Muslim Filipino Dishes to housewives to keep everyone get out of boredom while we wait for this long pandemic that is affecting everyone’s life.
At this time I am glad to present to you this delicacy known as “Bubungkung” that tastes similar to another Tausug delicacy the “Pasung,” that I am going to feature in my succeeding Column.
The only difference of Bubungkung from a Pasung is the taste since although the main ingredient is flour but what differs “Bubungkung” has mashed ripe green bananas. Hence, it is tastes more like “banana cake.”
Somehow, we are optimistic our dear readers will enjoy in their breakfast or snack time to savor this delicious bubungkung that is available in most Tausug Coffee shops.
Thus, we are encouraging each and everyone those who wish to prepare bubungkung to just follow the self-explanatory procedure and easy to source out ingredients.
