The Ministry of Interior and Local Government (MILG), through its project Tulong ng Gobyernong Nagmamalasakit (TuGoN), initiated the training under Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) programs for some 64 former combatants of Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) in Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao.
The former BIFF combatants finished their 30-day skills development training and conferred with National Certificate II (NC-II) by TESDA.
TuGoN head Mauricio Civiles, on Saturday said it was also in partnership with the Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education (MBHTE), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and Philippine National Police (PNP).
In his message, Chief Minister Ahod “Al Haj Murad” Ebrahim as read by Civiles, Ebrahim said, “sa mata ng Bangsamoro Government, iisa lamang ang ating gustong mangyari, ang magkaroon ng oportunidad sa bawat pamilyang Bangsamoro at maging mas maginhawa ang kanilang pamumuhay.” (In the eyes of the Bangsamoro government, there is only one thing that we would like to achieve, that is to have good opportunity for every Bangsamoro family, and for them to have more prosperous livelihood.)
“Bilang mga graduates ng TESDA program, mas lalawak ang inyong mga kakayahan at magkakaroon ng mga pagkakataon na maghanap ng mga mapagkukunan ng hanapbuhay, In Shaa Allah,” he added. (As TESDA graduates, you will have a wide sphere of expertise and would have more chances to look for high paying jobs, by the Will of Allah)
These former combatants received TESDA National Certificate (NC II) upon completion of Masonry NC II, Carpentry NC II, and Plumbing NC II short courses in Farasan Institute of Technology, Inc. a TESDA affiliated school.
The training aimed to capacitate the former combatants in preparation for their transition back to civilian life and become a more productive Bangsamoro citizen.
“Ito po ay isang pagpapatunay na gumagana po ang pang gobyerno ng ating pamahalaan, ang gobyerno ng ating Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao,” said Colonel Jovencio F. Gonzales representing Major General Juvymax Uy 6th Infantry Division Commanding General. (This manifests that our government is functioning to serve the people, the Bangsamoro government).
“Ipagpatuloy natin ang magandang pamumuhay para makasama tayo o kasali tayo sa peace and development ng ating kumonidad, sitio, barangay, munisipyo ng ating probinsya at ng buong sambayanan ng Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao,” he added. (Let us continue the good living condition so that we can join or participate in peace and develooment of our community, sitio, barangay, municipality of our province, and the whole populace of BARMM.)
MILG will also provide livelihood package to the trainees as their starter kit in utilizing the skills they acquired during the training. JULMUNIR I. JANNARAL
