COTABATO CITY

Local authorities here will impose soon stricter measures for airline passengers entering the city through the Cotabato Airport also known as Awang Airport after the surge of COVID-19 cases in Metro Manila and the National Capital Region (NCR) and its neighboring provinces were placed under “NCR Plus Bubble,” the city government has announced on Friday.
In a statement posted online, the city government headed by Mayor Cynthia G. Sayadi will require passengers arriving at Cotabato City via Awang Airport of the following:
Requirement of Letter of Acceptance.
A Negative RT-PCR result, taken 72hours up to 24hours prior to flight to Cotabato City.
Mandatory 14-day quarantine for non-APORs travelling to Cotabato City.
These guidelines were agreed upon during the recently conducted first quarter meeting of the City Peace and Order Council to prevent the new strands/variants of the COVID-19 virus from entering the city and affecting its citizens.
In a separate announcement, Mayor Cynthia reminded the public that the acts of tampering and faking of medical documents are punishable by law
“Tulong tulong lang po sana tayo upang maiwasan na ang pagkalat ng COVID-19 at ang mga bagong strand/variant nito,” she added.
Just recently, the country recorded the highest number of positive cases for only one day with more than 8,000 cases. AHA
