BONGAO, Tawi-Tawi — An estimated P6.8 million worth of suspected Shabu weighing more or less one kilogram and assorted drug paraphernalia were seized from 3 apprehended drug personalities in a buy-bust operation launched by the military and PDEA here last Saturday afternoon, October 2.
According to Maj. Gen. Alfredo Rosario Jr., commander of Western Mindanao Command (WestMinCom) on Tuesday the drug personalities identified as Rodimer Hamsiri Sappari, male, 21 years old, and Nurmilyn Suldi Majid, female, 26 years old, married, both residents of Barangay Poblacion; and Hatta Mutalib Sakiral, male, 28 years old, and resident of Brgy Suwang Pukol, all of Bongao, Tawi-Tawi were arrested by the troops of the Marine Battalion Landing Team-12, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-BARMM, and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Region IX at Bagay St., Poblacion, of the same municipality.
Maj. Gen. Rosario, Jr. said seized from the possession of the 3 suspects were assorted drug paraphernalia and several small cut heat-sealed transparent green straws containing white crystalline substance believed to be “shabu” weighing more or less one kilogram worth P6, 800, 000.00.
Col. Romeo Racadio, commander of Joint Task Force Tawi-Tawi said the intensive planning and coordination led to the successful execution of the buy-bust operation. The drug suspects are now in the custody of PDEA-IX for proper disposition and filing of appropriate charges.
The military continues to conduct law enforcement support operations with other law enforcement agencies to prevent the proliferation of illegal drugs in the province of Tawi-Tawi.
“Rest assured that the military units under the Western Mindanao Command will continue to attune its efforts particularly on the government’s campaign against prohibited drugs,” Maj. Gen. Rosario Jr. further said. (JIJ)
