CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY: The OK Partylist – Moro Ako has officially kicked off its entry for the 2022 elections with a caravan composed of hundreds of vehicles and motorbikes around three cities in Mindanao on Saturday, Feb, 12, 2022, after the Commission on Elections (Comelec) has allowed aspirants including partylists for national elective posts to campaign for the posts they are vying for and post campaign materials in designated areas.
Over a thousand supporters who joined the caravan came from different marginalized sectors such as youth, women, teachers, cooperatives, and professionals signifying their full support to OK Partylist.
Dubbed as ‘Make It Green’ caravan, it kicked off from Heaven Area in Marawi City, went around the city before going down to Iligan City and proceeded to Cagayan de Oro City where a short program marking a Meeting De Avance was held at Rodelsa Circle in Barangay Nazareth.
The caravan was aimed to encourage voters to be aware that OK partylist is not just a political party of its own, but a partylist where everyone is a member and recognized, it is their identity and representation from all parts of the country and abroad.
OK Partylist-Moro Ako has three nominees, namely, Najeeb Lucman Taib (#1 Nominee), Ahmad Barcelon (#2 Nominee) and Abdul Barry Marcom (#3 Nominee).
First nominee Lawyer Taib said the OK Partylist is envisioned to become a unified and trusted representative of the marginalized sectors.
Taib said it is aimed to help end the discriminations and injustices committed towards the Bangsamoro People and the Muslims in the Philippines and to promote the spirit of Dialogue and Mashuwara (Consultation) in the political process.
The Moro Ako envisioned to become a unifying and trusted political party for the Bangsamoro people and the Filipino Muslims in the promotion of a harmonious, peaceful, and inclusive Philippines Society, he added.
He said OK Partylist-Moro Ako has the following objectives:
- To participate in the national party list system elections as a starting move in engaging to the National Political activity.
- To create an organization of the Bangsamoro People and the Muslims, which is national in scope, that would fight and defend for their rights, promote their welfare and support for their causes.
- To make the Bangsamoro People politically strong and competent both in Regional and National Elections in the Philippines.
Facts about the First Nominee:
Najeeb Lucman Taib is a lawyer and a Shariah Counselor. He was a former public attorney who had been assigned in Public Attorney Office (PAO) district offices in Iligan City, Tubod, Lanao del Norte, Ganassi, Lanao del Sur, Malabang, Lanao del Norte.
He was also former professional lecturer at the Mindanao State University (MSU) Main Campus College of Law, and at MSU IIT-Extension College of Law.
Taib was a former MSU STUDENT PRESIDENT of the MSU Main Campus Supreme Student Government; a former Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) chairman of Barangay Condaraan, Bayang, Lanao Del Sur.
On his education, he holds the following degrees: Juris Doctor, MSU Main Campus; AB Islamic Studies, MSU Main Campus (CUMLAUDE); IBN Siena Integrated School-High School (EXCELLENT AWARDEE); and Diwan Elementary School (VALEDICTORIAN)
