DepEd Iligan, 20 Central Schools Ready for F2F Classes

ILIGAN CITY — City schools division officials here of the Department of Education (DepEd) said 20 central schools in the city are ready for a face-to-face classes.

In a recent interview, Iligan City Schools Division Superintendent Roy Angelo Gazo told Philippine Muslim Today that 20 central schools in Iligan  are ready for the  face-to-face classes when it is given a green light by the authorities.

“At this time, it is needed we have face-to-face classes to strengthen the mental health of our pupils and students; they can interact with their classmates, teachers and can express out on their problems,” Gazo said.

“But face-to-face classes,” he added, “can be done if the DOH, IATF, LGUs/Barangays give go signal and the parents sign waiver that they are allowing their children for the face-to-face classes.”

P49-M for tablets-computers for teachers use

The Iligan School Board has approved this year a budget of P49-million for the procurement of tablets-computers to be issued to all the teachers in DepEd-Iligan to help them easy teachings with their pupils and students.

The Iligan School Board is chaired by Mayor Celso G. Regencia with Supt. Roy Angelo Gazo as vice Chairman, City Councilor Noli Pardillo and others as members of the Board.

In 2021, DepEd Iligan had built 12 school buildings in different barangays in the city hinterlands to ensure children be given education.
