MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur — Maranaos are set to hold a people’s rally in Lanao del Sur for presidential candidate Vice President Leni Robredo, as she revisits her office’s partner communities and the Angat Buhay Village built for families displaced by the siege in Marawi City.
Robredo is scheduled to return to Marawi City on Friday, April 1, as she barnstorms Northern Mindanao provinces, fresh from a hectic campaign in Samar and Leyte this week.
Along with her running-mate Sen. Kiko Pangilinan and some of the senatorial candidates under the Leni-Kiko ticket, Robredo will speak before the people’s rally Maranaos organized for her in Barangay Sagonsongan, Marawi City.
It is in the same barangay where Robredo’s office and its partners built the Angat Buhay Village, where 72 housing units were put up to provide homes for more than 100 families displaced by the war in Marawi City in 2017.
Before the rally, VP Leni will have a kumustahan with the residents and leaders of the Angat Buhay Village. The city’s mayor, Majul Gandamra, is set to join Robredo at the kumustahan.
Robredo would also hold a dialogue with Bamboo Landers Multi-Sectoral Rural Workers Association, one of her office’s partner communities which received a livelihood subsidy under the OVP’s Sustainable Livelihood and Training (SLT) Program for their organization’s garments production.
After her visit to Marawi City, Robredo will end her day in the province of Bohol, where a people’s rally will also be held for her and the rest of the Leni-Kiko team at the Old Tagbilaran City Airport in Tagbilaran City. [PMT]
